its because the nozzles from the petrol stations in japan r bigger than the australian pumps.

all my cars in thepast have had that problem. though our astra we have at the momment is the only one i have seen fill up normally.

It has happened to my lancer & it does it with Rex also. I turn the nozzle around a little until it stops farting around to make it work. I figured it happens cos the pump flows too fast for the filler to cope so it blows it back a little making the pump think the tank is full?
A bit like trying to fill a water bottle too fast from the tap. Heidi |

I worked out that if you turn the petrol pump thingy completely upside down it works full blast!!
otherwise, it's a nightmare

Yeah happens to me all the time. Just have it hanging out a little from the pump and let the juice flow. It always stops when it's full in that position.
