2001 WRX problems persist!!??
Im just about ready to burn this WRX to the ground! ive only owned it for about 9 months and its driving me insane. When I first had the car it had a VERY slight hesitation on take off, previous owner told me it just needed the plugs changed.
I changed the plugs/ oil / Fuel Filter within a few days of buying it,slight hesitation was still there,it got worse and worse as time went by and then developed a Spluttered acceleration. So it will hesitate on take off then move off and gets this awfull spluttering acceleration that seems to be worse at the start OF EVERY gearchange!?. Driving home today it was the worse its been yet??,It has ECUTEK on it and I just had it retuned, problem is still there!?...Had all the Timing Gear Replaced....Tried a brand new AFM...tried Injector Cleaner( Liqui Moly). I took the car to Mao twice and he says he thinks its my Clutch Slipping. Theres no Clutch smell and the Revs are not really raising hugely higher than my Speedo,I took the car to a clutch Specialist and they told me its NOT CLUTCH related but an engine problem of some sort??. I took the Fuel Pump out ( walbro 1.5 years old) and theres no dirt in the tank or on the Pump Filter either, to me it feels like a Fuel Starvation problem??. AFR's were showing to be fine when Mao tested it, so I am at loss as to the problem is When your driving along the Freeway it drives pretty nicely but it hates driving about town ,going up through the gears?,it seems to be worse at lower speeds and when its at about 3000rpm + splutters the worst. NO Error codes ever come up with the scanner ,nor any engine check light Last edited by django; 06-02-2014 at 07:05 PM. |

Do yourself a favour and goto stechnic, can't be any worse then paying for work and getting no progress with your problem.

I would be doing one of two things:
1) take it to STechnic or 2) setting it on fire

Ive just sent an Email to "Stechnic" and if they cant find the cause, out comes the Petrol can and Matches, though I'll then have no transport

Good choice, to be honest I'd rather choke on a bread stick then goto Evo R

It's not running a Brant is it? Brant cuts fuel when it's being a cunt. (inevitable)
