I think I may have gone a little more than 4.5L, I'll have a good look at vacuum lines but I don't think it would be the lines as I'm still getting boost.
I only installed a sandwhich plate and wiring for 2 oil gauges apart from that I didn't do anything else. using the Perth-WRX mobile app
A vacuum line that is leaking won't cause your car to not produce boost. It just leaks a small amount of air which can cause the idle problem you are having and possibly the drive ability issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Check your BOV vacuum line, the one that runs from the bov to the manifold. Mine popped off and I got a very rough idle with misfiring on all cylinders and absolutely no power produced when driving. May not be your issue, but worth a look. Vacuum leaks in general will be worth sniffing around for.

With those initial symptoms you have described any chance that during your oil change you may have hit one of your plugs/coils and it has come loose?
Car may be running on 3 cylinders. Had the same problem and similar symptoms when mine dropped a plug. They are known to become pretty brittle and come loose or break. using the Perth-WRX mobile app |
Update..
-checked my oil level little past the 'F' on the dipstick. Hasn't reached the notch for over filled. -check my AFM one side was considerably dirty so sprayed it with contact cleaner. -checked the coils they seem to be fine and in place, however 3 out of 4 coils/plugs only have one bolt holding them in.. Whether or not that's going to make a difference? Also one side of the motor where the coil/plugs are is considerably dirty and greasy around the plug/coil tops. -checked and had a brief look at exhaust system whether or not I have any holes which could be changing the exhuast note.. Couldn't see any holes, will have a better look. -vaccum lines seem to be all in tack, couldn't find any splits, blow off valve line was fine, going to have a better look when I take the Tmic off. I'm picking up a stock blow off valve in the next couple of days and going to try that, cause my current BOV is releasing heaps of pressure on such low RPM which is a little unusual. Going to see if the BOV is knacked. Could it possibly be my spark plugs making it run really sour? Not 100% sure but thought it could be worth trying and seeing what condition their in? Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated! Cheers. using the Perth-WRX mobile app |
Update..
She is all fixed and running perfectly! It did end up been the spark plugs, they were rooted. So bought my self some NGK platinum laser cut plugs, swapped them out and she's running perfectly! Unbelievable, the smallest things can create the biggest problems ! Thanks to everyone who chimed in and helped! It's been greatly appreciated. using the Perth-WRX mobile app |
