Aren't MCA coilovers designed to go on a standard car from what I have heard? So dont know how they would go on a car that has had other suspension changes eg swaybars, lift kits and roll centre kits ???

Well if you have the correct set up on adjustable suspension you shouldn't need upgraded sway bars ect.....

Agree ^^ Just wonder how they would go if they are designed to go on a standard car but you put them on a modified car. Would you be better off putting the car back to standard and leaving the coilovers as they come or would you completely mess up all the design and development by changing the coilovers, height and shock settings, to suit the modified car ?

I think of it like this.....
Adjustable is probably designed to be perfect at the middle of it's adjustment range. With upgraded sways ect you would probably have to have it set softer to achieve the same thing. Not a deal breaker or you could just put softer springs valve rates or whatever I think they go for standard sway bars because that is a known..... you can't design a set up for multiple different set ups so they have gone for a stock rate. I think its mostly marketing bullshit and itll work well enough on a number of different configurations. They just tell you its special setup exactly foryour car so you feel special.... just like everyone else.

G'day fellas,
New to the forum used to have a read many moons ago when i owned my 99 WRX. Recently purchased an 06 Model, fairly stock. Has a turbo catback exhaust system but that's about it. Want it to be my new project to work on over the coming years and looking for some advice on good mechanics to take it to, that are knowledgeable on the ins and outs of WRX's. Looking for someone that knows the right mods to use to get the most power and performance out of it without trashing the engine. Understand many workshops have their personal strengths but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also any advice on where to take it to get tuned would be awesome. Many thanks in advance. I think we need a bit of an update in the initial post - many of these workshops have moved or changed details.
Looking for an up-to-date recommendation for servicing in the Wangara area. I know Blue Star used to be highly recommended but wasn't sure if he was still around. Also haven't been to ASG since Sean left, would like to hear from anyone who has used them recently. |
