Default Utec

i have been told that the UTEC is a piggy-back on the stock ecu, true?? if so, if you wanted to change the UTEC to another piggy-back ecu, is it as easy as unpluging the UTEC and and swapping it with say a ECUTEK?? with a tune of course. Or would you have to buy another stock ecu and start again??

UTEC is sort of a piggy back, but essentially yes.
ECUTEK is not a piggy back. ECUTEk is software that unlocks the stock computer.

Iv had a UTEC - and i changed to ECUTEk. Maybe the newer UTECs are much better - but the one I had sucked balls...

You can take the UTEC out because its a piggy back, and you'll be left with your stock ECU.

You then get your stock ECU Verso tuned.

Either would be good for that application, just depend on what you want to spend, why not go MoTeC? lol
