Those rexnet guys are blaming the 044, but I highly doubt this is the problem. So many people run the Bosch pumps without a drama.
Tode, when you modified the fuel pump pick-up to fit the 040, what did you actually do to it?? Did you have to cut the frame down? |

i did two thing to fit it:
1.chopped a bit of the plastic pipe off the fuel sock ( to fit the hose to it & to make the whole assembly shorter) 2. Cut the metal main fuel line to make the pump fit properly inside the tank (as it was too long with everything fitted up and hence would no go in properly. Everything looks fine, the only concern i have is that the fuel sock is being crushed by being forced in there (coz the pump assembly is too long - hence kind of crushing it or causing a block, by being kind of crushed to the bottom... It makes a different noise to the 040... much more quieter - although when its running it makes a hissing sound.... sounds almost like a air leak - I dunno if this sound is normal? Could a blocked fuel filter or fuel pressure reg be another prob? I remeber lane giving the FPR a bit of a hammer (first tune) to try and raise the fuel pressure to the injectors.. dont think he managed though... |

Seriously why not just take it to a workshop and get them to fix it rather than play guessing games?

Yeah but Tode is a sick bloke. He don't care
Just start with the basics tode - try and remove the pump and make sure it isnt kinked or anything down the bottom (as you said it may have been crushed). Then give your fuel filter a look see. As tino said also, check the injectors also. It has to be something minor....surely?

wat about the wiring. Stock wiring wouldn't be able to cope with a 044 i wouldn't have thought. I know i had to change the wiring for the 040 when fitting to skyline.

I think i'l have to book it in again, the wiring is connected properly.
where do i check the fuel filter? How can I check other parts if they are causing an issue? Id rarther try diagnose it myself first than book it in, coz if i do i think im gona bite the bulet and get a surge tank setup |
