clutch reservoirectomy involves:
- empty fluid with a syringe - remove metal heatshield surround - undoing clamp at base - trimming lower section of reservoir with a blade (2cm) - reassembling and fill with fluid planning on doing this to a 2000 GT forester in the next few weeks to fit a monster tmic |

Im looking at putting a 02-06 STi intercooler on my MY00.
Im pretty sure you dont have to do that someone on rexnet has done it and said The clutch fluid container can be cut down, i cut 25mm off mine, it is around 10mm above the high mark, Stanley knife does the job easy. The cap is still tight -ish in the hole, i will make a small clip to swing over it to make sure it can't come off, even std rally cars have them fall off. So yeah the link is here if you want more info on it http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index...howtopic=21945

cooler is physically the same size as the WRX one. Just silver with a nice logo. Techinically no gain coz its no bigger. I think Steve said this on another thread. Can anyone confirm ?

The GC8 MY99/00 STi intercoolers are the same efficiency as the vanilla model unit. Changing to the same year STi item is a Blingrade not an upgrade. BTW an original 99/00 tmic is very efficient with the addition of a water spray. However after fitting my MRT Bar and Plate TMIC I lowered the boost level by 1 psi, still made another 5kw atw with similar A/F and timing.
Don't know any other cars running a 12.8 qtr mile with a TD04 turbo @105.38 mph on an original wrx engine love my MRT B&P tmic

Yes that is correct, the MY99/00 STI intercooler is virtually identical in dimension and fin count and flow as the standard MY99/00 WRX intercooler of that year. The only difference being a small indentation on the bottom rear of the WRX intercooler is not present on the STI one. Sweet FA differance. $330 for a Pink STi Logo. Ha Ha.
Don't waste your money!!!!!!! After following the Rexnet threads on intercoolers, the only one I would recommend at the monent is from here: http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index...howtopic=44189 These are pretty close to an exact copy of the MRT/Hyperflow Intercoolers that retail for $1200-$1600. I run a Hyperflow. Its buyer beware for some $300 Ebay, China spec ones. Rexnet members have found: 1) Mounting points need modification or custom brackets. 2) Welds are not up to scratch and need re-welding 3) The BOV thread has been fucked and needed re-threading. 4) Interferance problems with a Front Strut Braces Read this: http://www.rexnet.com.au/forum/index...ercooler&st=10 JJR Intercoolers may have fixed problems with their original design, I would Email the Rexnet members in the above thread. If all is good its a bargain at $279. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CoolingPro-TO...ayphotohosting J |
