Speedworks has a hub dyno and obviously would dyno tune your car..
RMS does road tunes (and i think you can request dyno time if required).. However wont spark up the "who's the best tuner" complex.... |

Ive had my link tuned by race torque, RMS and Speedworks ... and I can send you my spreadsheet of all three tunes. I would get RMS to install it and Speedworks to tune it and make sure u get a 10 row link setup (no antilag) .. car will run much better than with 6 rows of ignition and fuel and before the who's the best tuner war starts up.. has anyone else had their car tuned by all threee of those places? No? well don't comment then.

what joe said. It is very easy to install, less than 30min.
tuning, I would consider RMS, or Racetorque. I dont know for sure of any other places that tune LINKS, sounds like Speedworks do as well as simon said. MMS might do them as well? Plenty of options, pick the one that is closest to where you live i guess.

Mr PSI,
This is what you are looking for in a MY98 WRX (a Version 3,4). Its a straight swapover for your standard ECU. i.e. pull the Subaru one out and plug the PossumLink in, then tune. In WRX's there called PossumLink's after the legend Possum Bourne RIP. http://www.mrtrally.com.au/shop/defa...duct=musse009c http://www.mrtrally.com.au/performance/link.htm http://www.link-electro.co.nz/possumlink.html Make sure if you do get one, either 2nd hand or new it has an Updated chip, either R or S spec. Anti-Lag is an option too. To save a bit of $$ too you can just opt for a Road Tune and not bother with Dyno time. Good results can be achieved with just a Road Tune. I seem to remember a MY99 or MY00 that had 150-160KW at the wheels, with just the intake and exhaust done at a dyno day 2 years back. This was with just a Road Tune from MMS. Your probably looking at $300 ish for road tune if you buy new from RMS or MMS. Go talk to the Moby look alike aka Leigh at Revlimit Motorsport or Steve at Maximum Motors Sports BTW I have a V5 (MY99/00) PossumLink, Road Tune only and am more than happy with it, tuned by RMS. Anyone know the approx $$ for an updated chip? Looking at MRT's website that have both road spec and rally spec ecu's....is the only difference antilag or are there more differences? I have a 97/98 link PnP with antilag, but its not installed atm, but will be shortly, just sorting out budget if I need to get the new chip when I get it installed. Cheers Richard |
