Well looking at my V5 (MY99/00) PossumLink. The socketed Chip has WRX99R stickered across the top of it. Thats an R-Spec chip.

Also with the Hand Controller. One of the Menu Screens will tell you something like WRX99 R and a date eg Feb 03.

Go have a yak to Leigh at RMS for updated chips. I think he has a few lying around from guys upgrading to Anti-Lag Spec boards.

Are you after a 3 plug Power FC to suit a 98 model?

when is it best to get an ecu?

eg. best in what order of mods?

because i currently have in my98 a boost control, fmic, exaust and pod. i will be gettin a vf34 next week, would u recommend a computer next?

you should be getting an ecu at the same time you bolt on the VF34 - plus fuel pump!

The only other minor mod, that improves turbo spool up and throttle response is a Silicon Inlet Pipe from the Pod to the Turbo. Pretty $$$ for the KW gain tho.

Yes get the ECU done after the turbo or possibly in conjunction with the Turbo install.
