Any other people find any benefits with the silicon intake?

Get RMS to fit water injection will cost ya a bit over a grand but if your car is tuned with the water injection running you can gain ~40nm torque up top purely because the car can be tuned with like 10-15 degrees more timing because the air charge is cooler. Also provides more saftey for thrashing on hot days. Dont overlook water injection... WW2 fighters had it, all WRC cars have it.

Polar is right again. I’ve done a bit of reading and talking to tuners about water injection and yes you can advance the timing and get noticeably more torque.
But, what happens if there is a failure of water supply? Bang! There may be ways around this with sensors and detectors that switch over to a safer map when a fault is detected. A reflash or piggy-back can not do this, y’d need a chip that can hold at least 2 maps, motec or autronics maybe. Comments anyone? |

I think the water injection system has a light on the dash that goes on if no water is detected.

Harrier jets use water cooling and cannot hover for more then 30 seconds in 1 spot otherwise the water boils and the engine practically explodes. So, dont put a harrier jet engine in ur rexxy. Mmmk?

The other thing to do is keep it full... just fill i twice a week and make sure its full before a night of crusiing. Apparently GETAGRIP only uses half the tank in half a days motorsport.

I can get hold of a sti i/c sprayer setup for $300. Would this do the same trick as the $1k+ setups as in gaining torque? Should i try to get it installed before the tune if i go with water injection?

Without increased timing the engine will produce less power than without water injection. It is the 10-15 degrees extra timing that gives the 50nm. Forget water spray. If you have water injection it has X times the effect. It will make your car feel like its a cold day on hot days and a very cold night on cold days.
