Anyone got their cars tuned by Aaron apart from Blaise ?
I'm on the verge of giving up on Aaron's tune after a shocking retune just couple of days ago. |

As I noticed on Evoz Irwin, it seems like you are keen to give Sean a try. Definately give Sean a crack. Aaron did his best on mine but just couldn't get it to the standard I wanted. To his credit he was happy to try and make good and get the car right, but just didn't seem to be able to get it there. Sean on the other hand, was all over it. Got good power, linear sensible afrs and great driveability.

The result I got last week was disappointing and aaron couldn't quite nail the cold start or even get the car to idle properly when the car is operating at normal temperatures. On a summer day my car stalled on leach hwy at a busy intersection at North Lake road. Given the fact that he had spent I would say a conservative 3 hours on getting the idling right, the leach hwy incident is way out of hand. I will be giving Sean a try as I have gotten very good feedback from a friend of mine. After which I will do another power run at Xspeed's dyno (same dyno aaron uses) to confirm the amount of gains I've had. Taking into consideration that the Evos are relatively new to tuners, I needed someone to stop giving me excuses and start giving me solutions. This is something which All Star Garage has done very well in so far. I will be looking forward to speak to them again next week and hopefully get good results. |

Same experience here Irwin. Talks the talk but cant walk the walk. There were things that just weren't right with my car and as I learnt more about MoTeC and looked at some of the tables, I saw how he had tried to "fix" them and was a bit dismayed.
Sean doesn't talk it up, but from my observations, had a much better handle on the features of the ECU and just got the job done.

Just out of curiosity, did he lock your ECU ?
While my car was with him as he was putting several parts in and couldn't make it to the dyno for another 2-3weeks, I told him if I could get the car back so that I can get someone else to tune it. Upon which, he threatened me that if I went to someone else, he will revert my ECU back to stock configuration which will render the car not drivable at all. Nope, mine wasn't locked. But I never mentioned to him I was heading to another tuner, although he shouldn't have a gripe, he saw enough of my money. Unfortunately they do have the right to lock the tune, but IMHO there is not much intellectual property worth protecting in one of his tunes. I'd just grab your car and get it out of there. Be very poor form of him not to at least leave the car capable of being able to drive out of there. You might want to point out to him what sort of damage that kind of behaviour might do to his reputation.
