When I drove the Mazda 6 I was pretty happy with it. Nice engine!

My sister has an SP23. Its automatic, but drives very well for an auto. Not as involving drive from a purist point of view, but very liveable car for the daily commute and some slight mods would make it a nice hot hatch. Well built - nice 'chix car'.

I would suggest this one

Cheap to run , two doors and maybe you can adapt a little turbo
