That's a nice price... any talk of the PS3 ever being cracked? it's the $100+ games which are the real cost of a system.

I took a bigw catalogue to eb games and they gave it to me for $589. Handy as big w is sold out. Have to go to a shopping mall where there is no big w like galleria as the ones that have big w stores wont price match as they know bigw are out haha.

Ok now which model to buy . The 60gig is backward compatible and has 4 usb ports
the 40gig can NOT play ps2 games and only has 2 usb ports

They have stopped making the 60 gig though so like hens teeth now to find.

Whats better getting a 40 gig new or 60 gig second hand i guess if you can find one. ?

Got the 40gb, and would def be handy for more USB ports. Have the Driving Force Pro, 4 controllers and Time Crisis 4- point is that it's a prick to charge controllers with so few ports, trying to use different peripherals. PITA to swap ports all time.
Depends how much you can get a 60gb for. Backwards compatible? I'm not fussed, cos still got the ps2 (just to play GT4 til GT5 arrives :P)
