If your from a small village Bunbury is going to seem huge! But if you get work locally, and want to live in a small village type place still, there are a few near by .... Dardanup, Donnybrook (i hate the place but u my love it) boyanup, Capel, brunswick ....all with in 25 mins of bunbury.

If your the guy that said he was moving to Eaton its a great place to get the best of both worlds as it is part of Dardanup shire yet practically in Bunbury (my 2c bunbury shire is a mob of $$ wasting idiots)

Yeh its V8 country but find me somewhere in Australia that isnt....plenty of ricers down here and so far the ones I've met are all very friendly and helpful.

As for work ... its everywhere and as I understand it when you come to Aust trying to get perminent res. you have to be employed by someone who is willing to "sponsor" you until your residency comes thru and I think its a year or so that you need to be doing that...I know a few poms that have come over to do just that and found it difficult to get sponsored in Perth but have had little trouble down here so even tho they started in the capital city they soon had to make the move south.

Rentals..... I dunno I have never needed to look for one locally I hear there arent many around but friends that rent dont seem to have to much hassle finding places.

Hope that helped.

PS I am neither a junkie nor do i drive a boring V8 family car.

The only things I remember of Bunbury are the radar trap that is always on the main tree lined road just before town trying to catch people still doing 110 in a 60 zone.
I was just north of Bunbury in Jan driving on the beach up to a rock groyne and there was a pod of dolphins playing in the water literally 5 metres from shore in the crystal clear water. You could have walked out and be swimming with them. Something tourists pay big $$$ to do

You can do that here too. Dolphin Discovery Centre holds daily swim tours throughout summer. http://dolphins.mysouthwest.com.au/

You gotta watch those radar traps on long weekends they often have 3 of them set up for those idiots that think because they have passed one they wont see another so they speed up....then number 2 gets 'em only a few kms down the road....and for the total morons that speed up again there is number 3 only a few more kms away....on a long weekend with double demerits thats ur licence gone yoink have a nice day.

Hi TJ,

Just the way I like to address people when writing to them. If it's causing an issue let me know.

At least the rain has cleared up down here, hopefully some sun for the next four or five days and we can get back to picking grapes 'n making wine!

Cheers,
Nik
