I've found the best way for me to get back into it is walk then small jog sections.

So it might be walk 200m, jog 50m (not specific, just what feels comfortable). And slowly increase the jog portion and decrease the walk portion. Allows you to find a comfortable balance whilst over a short period of time going from no jogging to jogging a decent distance.

I probably don't need to say this, but shoes are of great importance! I'd also go see a podiatrist and get some insoles made to ensure you are utilising your joints in the correct way and not setting up a motion for knee failure etc.

Start with a cross trainer, reasonable resistance and no impact. Use it to build good base level of fitness on then take it outdoors from there. And only run on the grass!

Last thing you want is to run 200m and do your knee.

I've had one knee reconstruction and running on pavement hurts if you do much over a kilometre, stick to grass or sand

Ive also had one.

Cross trainer I dont mind - did 50 minutes easily last night after not much exercise in the last 3 weeks.

But Id like to take the colour run semi seriously so time to do some real work.
Master D likes this.

Both of these are really good suggestions, especially as they are actually realistic. The C25k program has had a lot of really good feedback from people who started from similar positions so personally I would suggest to try that one first
