I am doing this at the moment.

I've trained up and can do a 5km run in 27 .. still pretty tough, shagged by the end of it.

My trainer gets to 14 in Beep pretty easily .. so hard!!

I have been training for a 10km run we are having at gym. So far i've managed a 23min 5km run and been able to do 8km in 40min. Have a week to go to get to 10km but hoping that a comp will be able to push me over the line. Looking to do a 10km in under 50min and then I will be happy.

You need to start doing smaller training sessions to improve your times, 400m/800m runs e.g 400m x 10 (1.30 rest). You will very quickly adjust to running at a higher cadence. I knocked 4 minutes off my city to surf time doing just that.

If you guys are thinking about doing something social I can organise a bootcamp session for the weekends up at King's Park or something. I used to run them when I worked for one of the larger fitness chains in Perth but working for another company now. If we could get some good numbers it'll be cheap.

Also, I work for a gym in Belmont. We do corporate prices for memberships (need at least 5 people tho) so if anyone is interested pm me. Just putting it out there.
