Wickid... I'm gonna try that. I was also thinking today, they might be trying to double their profits by release a crap audio quality one now then release a re-mastered one later... I dunno... just a thought.

Hey Werti,

Can I call you Werti? Well too late anyway. I have the cd and I believe the ones recorded off guitar hero are way better. Doesn't blow your ears away when you turn it on and can actually hear the drums and bass properly. Not to mention all the other sounds I didn't know existed. Put it on CD and normalised it because it was a little quiet and quality's still great!

I'm not sure about the extended solo's though. One version of suicide & redemption is James Hetfield and the other Kirk Hammet's solo. When you listen to the original, both solo's are there, except they are blended together.
Wanted to have both version on the cd except the song is too long to fit another. Chose Kirk's solo. Just sounded better to me.

Thanks for the link.

-Pete

call me wert

There is the GH3 vs cd version so you can see the drums exist now.

In any case normalising the audio is effectively doing the same thing, perhaps what you really need it a better amp to handle those dynamics :P

an article of further interest:

Not really

Normalization applies the same amount of gain across the selected region of the recording so that the relative dynamics (and signal to noise ratio) are preserved.
Meaning it still sounds good after normalisation and I don't have to turn it up louder then forget when I throw in another cd and it blows my ears away. I researched it before I did to make sure I wasn't doing the same thing.
