By vertical do you mean turned 90 degrees pointing forward or do you mean pointing up. Seems far fetched to me.

Yeah pointing up towards the roof, signal is absorbed and bounced off the roof due to larger surface area, everyone should try it.......

I put it in my glovebox in a lead container, it works even better than pointing it towards the roof.

Actually I was saying sideways as in you turn it on it's side... Still pointing forwards... Usually ppl have them mounted so they're horizontal, aka parralell to the dash, but apparently by turning them on their sides, it stops them from picking up things like electronic door senses from the shopping centres and the likes... That's the general idea anyways. Far as pointing them at your roof or putting in your glovebox, never heard of such things, but if it works, go for it

I have some RF blocking fabric packets you can snuggly fit your radar detector in...totally eliminates all false signals.

Really? Theres plenty of vids out there proving it. In fact fuck the vids. Pull up on the side of the road next time you see a speed camera, get 1 bar of signal. Turn your detector sideways and see what happens. I reckon you'll be pleasantly suprised.
