I still think they have multiple boxes but not as many cameras, however there's no way to confirm this.

Your V1's will probably go crazy (picking up signals) again in a few weeks when you go pass them.

Do believe in the past the cameras were sent away around this time of year for service/calibration ready for full life saving abilities over holiday period.

First, I appology this is not fixed camera related.

I came cross with this on Thursday at Powis St. It's a laser gun on a tripod.

R they allowed to use this set up. I thought laser gun has very small effective detection area, ie it has to be held by operator to point at number plate or headlamp.

PS: I wasn't speeding. And there was a police in the Xtrail, not a usual operator, no other police around the cornerto catch cars neither...

Pretty sure there are no laws against tripods so I'd say they are allowed.

I'd assume that's a video version of Tru-cam.

Tru CAM video

Fixed set up is allowed.

Agreed, but they have to be operated by someone to point at each car, right?

I'd assume that since it was Police in operating vehicle it may be some testing of fixed operation.

I'd assume that as long as it meets a set of parameters, such as license plate in frame, an auto mode is possible.

Yes, I know, old thread, but can someone tell me if the fixed freeway cameras work in both directions? Specifically the one on the Mitchell near Karrinyup heading north.

I thought they were only pinging those heading north, but my V1 detector picks it up as I'm heading south on the other side of the freeway

The Valentine is sensitive enough to pick up the rear facing traffic fixed camera on the opposite side when heading south.

ROFL, common sense would dictate that it is not going to shoot across train tracks and the angle the camera is facing it would have to shoot you coming in the other direction from about a kilometre away
