Have a look at the Mazda 2.

Far, far superior car to the Swift in every way. More room for passengers, more luggage space, better handling, better road noise, better trim, better cabin design, just better all 'round.

Not sure how it would stack up against the Focus, but definitely give one a test drive.

I dunno, I've driven both in automatic form, and I MUCH prefer the Swift.

Yeah the manual is better obviously, my sis got the Swift auto and I must admit, the auto is quite smart.

It shifts down through the gears on deceleration, kicks down really really quick and holds gears quite well when your pushing it! The shifts are really firm too, quite unusual for a small car.

Why not look a Pickles on a Tues & save yourself 6 or 7 grand on a 12 month old car with a couple of years factory warranty left on it, "as an example" there are 5, 12 month old Lancers coming up tomoz with less than 20,000k's.
The minute you drive out of a yard you've binned 5g's so why not let someone else do it for you.
You can bid on line & check & start the cars beforehand. You can also watch on line to see if it is worth your while & get a rough idea on what you would save.
We have Echo's & Yarris's at work & the A pillar is just plain dangerous.
Just a suggestion.
Also a lot of fleets will let cars go cheap cos it's the end of financial year.
BUT..... There is a nice Skyline that'll probably go for about 8 - 10g, ignore the asking price, they usually go for a fair bit less.
