A good moment, spoiled by faux-HDR finish.

I dont mind it. A few of the sharp lines and shadows (bag straps and dudes groin especially) kind of wreck it though. I like the over-all "idea" of the shot though.
Subject possition and black and white are good

I took this down the side of woolstores, didn't realise I forgot to focus the camera till the next point. Any comments/ tips for this kind of shooting (other than the light on the bootlid of the tuned by sti) as this was a first attempt for night shooting.

I'd work on your composition personally, bit of a nothing shot - half the cars sticking into the frame.

Lighting/exposure is ok though, just get the focus sorted.

Thanks for pointing that out. Makes more sense of why the photo just didn't seem right.

Ill have another go at shooting photo's at night this week sometime. Is there a rough guideline to settings on the camera when taking photos at night? Or is it a bit of trial and error on the night?

I'm a rookie at taking photos with my DSLR, however I have gained some knowledge from:

http://www.dslrtips.com/

Top left has a workshop section with video as well as text.

A good guideline for shooting various subjects.
