The Laser detection capabilities between the 3.863 & 3.892 were all in par IMO - but the 3.893 is slightly more sensitive to Laser. It was always top notch though when compared to other models i.e XR * Improved K band range from the 3.872 to the 3.893. As well forgot to mention |

1. Superoo
2. BMTH 3. BMTH So that's three so far. I'm awaiting a relative to give me an answer RE a one. To confirm mine is a 3.872 firmware.

Can someone with bit of knowledge explain this to me, with handheld lasers you only get notified when the cop is measuring your speed?

Simply because the laser signal from the handheld device is only activated when the officer presses the trigger.. ie when the officer attempts to read your speed.
A radar detector cannot detect a signal that isn't there.. so if the trigger is not pressed to read speed, there is no signal. |

ALWAYS take any laser alert seriously. I've had scatter alerts (very short) to then get a sustained alert when the hand held laser is pointing at my vehicle specifically. With Poliscans, you'll get a briefer alert which then stops and then the more sustained alert as you enter the photo measurement zone.
