Snuck down to the big carpark behind Office works Osb Park late this arvo to take the cars out for a bit of a bash.
I arrived to find a totally empty 120 bay carpark....Win! The surface was nice & clean......Not to mention someone @ Giant Nissan had left the Radio on so I had some tunes to listen to as well LOL! I Had the 416 clone & also a Trf-417 clone to bash about: ![]() The 417 is on the left, it's running a 6.5 turn hobbyking Brushless motor/esc. The 416 is running an Orca 17.5 turn motor & esc. The 417: ![]() My $5 RX-7 body: ![]() May have some iphone spec video to follow if it turns out any good...LOL!

Both handle pretty well, the 417 is more predictable (maybe a setup/alignment issue with the 416 making it harder to drive)....... I need to learn to drive these properly, as it's the first time I've driven counter steer geared cars & they are inherently hard to drive .
The 417 has way more power & speed (it's running a 6.5 turn motor v's a 17.5 in the 416) I'll throw up a shitty Iphone vid shortly......

Ross - curious - my Hobbywing ESC Has the option to program the turns. How do you know what is the correct one. Can you simply change them willy nilly?

Looks good Ross. How much did each cost you in total?

The mOtor should be marked with the turn count ie 6.5t etc it the number of wraps of wire in the motors windings..... It's not something you usually need to specify for the esc.

![]() The 416 cost me $105 inc shipping + $46 for the radio shipped The RX-7 shell was $4.86 usd on eBay, free shipping. The 417 I've built for a mate, I think the kit was around $160 from r2hobbies? The motor & esc combo in it from hobbyking was about $90.
