It's not waste gate or bov.....It's turbo chatter (or dosing-if you are japanese) because there's no bov.

so how come everyone on youtube calls it a greddy type R if there is no bov? my cousins running one of these on his evo 9 and makes the same noise on low boost..when he hits full boost it fully opens and makes a woosh noise??? he also has an ext waste gate if that helps.. ???

lol but that doesn't explain why my cousins does it? pretty much exactly the same and i asked what he was using. i'm thinking maybe it only opens on high psi and so its closed and comp surge occurs. but then when he hits full boost it opens and wooshs... is that plausible??

yes, if the bov (any brand) is set too tight you'll get the chipmunk chirps.

^... I had a HKS SSQV on my R34 and when I adjusted it it was awesome and made the exact same sound. Even on heavy load. MASSIVE flutter.

It lives on a diet of compressor wheels & pistons! This is why I can't run more than 24 psi on my current setup....Damn you compressor surge!
