Get the genuine sti motorsport part. Its the way forward...
Part number is ST38434AA010. Have a look on RHD japan. If you have the early style gearboxes she bolts straight in. If you have the later (99 onwards) then you will need an early rear housing which are plentiful and cheap. Brendon

For his needs a DCCD will be perfect. He's a harcore offroader with a jacked up L series. DCCD will offer him differential action on the road and locked 4 x 4 when he needs it. Car has low power output so that won't be a problem.
The Foxey controller is piss easy to hook up, but the ones he made for me had no provision for lights of any sort. I added a 'Hobbs' switch and an override switch so I could have auto operation (only on boost) and a switch to lock it should I break a driveshaft. |

Hi Doug, First of all, "hardcore" haha, just trying to push the L series to its limits and satisfy my hobby :P When your talking about locked 4x4 , does that mean I will still have drive at the front wheels even if one of the rear wheels lift off the ground or would all the drive go in that wheel thats off the ground and no drive in the front wheels? (Similar to what happens I think to a AWD lib box) I know without a locked or LSD rear diff the same thing happens for one of the rear wheels. With a L series gbox in 4wd the front still has power even if the one rear wheel is off the ground, would the DCCD allow it AWD to be similar? And I would like to get rid of the L gearbox to go from 2wd to AWD for on road purpose. Thx Last edited by Guyph_01; 24-11-2010 at 08:45 AM. |

The DCCD will lock the centre differential when electrical power is applied. It's an open diff with a bias to rear when not powered and variable in between by varying the electrical power applied.
When locked, at least one front and one rear are driven, same as the L series in 4x4. |
