Default [EXPLICIT] a little bit of history...

I thought I'd put some pics and info on the car formerly know as EXPLICIT. This was the original explicit as some are probably aware these plates have made their way onto a few cars since. Rest assured the next one will carry the moniker well.

Purchase brand new in March 2000 after a 6 month wait, my MY00 burgandy wrx wagon arrived. It lasted 3 months before exhaust, coilovers, swaybars and blow off valve were installed. Intercooler was fitted as well as CAI and button clutch. Did the Classic rally at which point i busted the box not long after. After being messed around with options at the time i opted for a holinger gearset in 01 and that without doubt was the most reliable part of the car. The car slowly evolved with upgraded turbo, fuel systems, hidden wiring, leather interior, dressed engine bay etc etc. Over that period the car was mainly a weekend toy which competed in all forms of weekend warrior motorsport - the whole point of having it in my eyes. Finally the option was taken in 05 to build a race car. It was semi successful with speedworks management lacking the skills to see a complete project through and i failed to throw any more money at incompetency. It still holds the title of most powerful wrx in WA (Oz at the time i believe) and achieved 131mph at the drags with a circuit suspension setup. Never timed my stints at wanners but i remember it changing lanes in 3rd gear on the fwy with ease. Just a plain silly fast car, too fast for the chassis really but all a learning curve.

RIP the little red fire engine.............

ahhh yes!

i miss that car!

correction, i miss that lifestyle!

that early pioneering spirit when fmic's and vf22 turbo's where all to be done for the first time. when motec was uttered in secret and holinger was the choice of a new generation! all those countless weekends spent up @ aass fine tuning the porko posso will live with me forever!

mv03 was just the best, best one to this day! u can just make out lil' ol 'rw too with its magic rear window salute to excess and of course the balistic mobile with that "what was i thinking" rear wing moment! it will go down in the history books as the foundation for perth-wrx and when things got serious in the later years it stopped being fun!

bring back 2003!
