Pics soon (ish) the build has gone slower than expected, i had one of my rental properties trashed and so gave pretty much all the time i have had over the last 3 months towards renovations!

But it hasn't been side lined, i have been doing small things to it every week

So i have been busy renovating a house over the last 3 months and have been pressured by mARC to update this thread!

there has been lots of things done to the car over that time including installing the Turbo, intercooler, exhaust, headers brembo's, wheels etc

I have been busy over Xmas pulling the dash out, Doug was going to do this for me but i have a tight timeline for the cage to go in which will be completed in early Feb (don't worry doug the diff is still being dropped off Monday morning!)

the only thing that has been a real bastard was getting the rear diff out so i could install a 2 way, one of the bolts in the cradle was stuck big time, after leaning on it for 2 hours with a 2 foot breaker bar i finally decided to get the angle grinder out and cut the bastard off!

Here are some pics of things you can see and there has also been a hell of a lot done that you can't see!

this is how the tune should look with exactly the same mods as mine

and what i got!

As some of you know i have been having troubles with the tune, it really is awful! i will be sending it to racetorque to get another tune as i was really not happy with what i got from the other nameless tuner (i will not slander them but was very unhappy!) and put the lack of power and driveability down to that (also i must thank Doug for taking it for a drive and giving me a few hints about what was wrong!)

I will update this with a full report over the next few days and will have a heap of pics when the cage/seats etc are in in mid Feb!

BJ

Good work mate. Always good to see people doing a lot of the work for themselves.
You have done your homework so should turn out well.
Bit of a step up from the HQ days mate.

Has the unhappiness with the tune got anything to do with the 2nd dyno chart, as in where it came from?

Do you realize that the GTPS02 turbo would make your car ineligible to compete in Targa West, etc?

No comment, i will leave it as JUST a dyno chart and not refer to who tuned it so as not to upset anyone!

Yep, not interested in Targa West at all but it can run under AASA but if i win it can be protested (very unlikely that i would win anything though lol)

But i am thinking the Turbo might get the boot and run some form of VF series so as to keep it a little more legal!

When I drove the car it felt like it had sufficient power, but lacked response. It was like there was too much delay between standing on the loud and the E throttle actually doing anything. If you floored the throttle at any revs, there was a noticable delay in anything happening. If you floored the throttle and held the car back using the brake pedal, then released it after the throttle had caught up it bolted instantly.
I don't tune and I don't push anyone's barrow but as a rally car it sucked to drive. You can make all the numbers you want on the dyno, but if it takes 0.5 of a second to think about opening the throttle, it sucks as a rally car.
