Yep I'm aware he bought it with hail damage but with the amount spent
on buying the car and doing it up possibly a JDM STi could have been had
with stronger motor, 6 speed and suspension goodies for a similar price.

Hence asking him the question as to his decision.

all the bits you mention in that post will get chucked in the bin anyway, so i don't get what you are asking????

i bought it for a body shell, no offence here but i am not after some JDM ricer thing to race up and down the coast road!

What STI goodies would be kept in the car anyway???

Maybe i should buy some fluffy dice and subwoofers also, would that be worthwhile???

if i turned up to a rally with STI suspension i might be lucky to beak into the top 150, here's one for you, google me at targa or targa wrest point, i will wait..... see that finish of 24th outright in a 95 gc8? well that give me enough of an idea that i know what i am doing!

sorry that wasn't meant to be as big a dig as it reads, i bought this car for a reason, i was always going to buy a 2.5 as i wanted torque without the big boost loads, in Tasmania the terrain is not like here and a hell of a lot of 2 liter cars don't make the end purely because of bid boost over 5.5 very hard days of driving!

Am i wrong.... could be, but a lot of back thought has been put into it!

Talking

Go through many boxes of tissues?

As I said I wasn't having a go but you seem to take everthing people
people say as a personal attack and react straight away.

Fuzzy dice and JDM ricer, what the fuck are you on about!!!

Asked a simple question about your choice in cars and get an anger fueled
answer that makes no sense.

Jap car with 2.0lt twin scroll and 6speed with DCCD vs 2.5lt of fail
would be alot of OTHER peoples choice hence the question as to your
decision.

Atleast you would have got a significant amount of money back from
selling all the stopped bits from a do called JDM ricer vs a STD wrx.

Awesome project mate! Stoked you're putting it all up on here to! Thanks.
Much cheaper than that mate, MCA's are priced similarly to DMS and alot better IMO.

If your wanting to get rid of the seats front/rear etc let me know please
as I might be pretty keen, just let me know what bits you haveand how
much you want for them.

If not chuck some of the bits up forsale, you'd be surprised what people
will buy.

People might want to use your seats if they make a home-made cockpit set-up for video games, Beau. People like me. So chuck them up and see what you get!

Dont the 08 wrx front seats have airbags in the sides? If so many forester boys will want them. Dont just throw it away. Be able to sell it easy.

If you have a great plan would ya mind letting us know what it is? I wanna know what you are doing with the engine and box etc!

It will be interesting to see how this project goes for reliablity to either prove or disprove the 'myths' of Subaru driveline strength.

I know my GD 5 speed took a hell of a load of punishment and just kept asking for more. There was no need for a 6 speed. R160 shafts didn't bust either, but I wasn't pushing bulk power.

For the motor side, is it an EJ255 in the WRX compared to a EJ257 in the STI? And is that like the EJ205 being open deck and the EJ207 being semi closed deck? I'm not sure if that has changed in the new models.

Fatboy, is there anything on the driveline you would want to upgrade prior to competition (R180's, strengthened box etc)?
