anything I should know about prior to buying the owner appears to have put about 20,000kms on it since this thread.

Ask them for the VIN number and then you will be able to find out. If it is a re shell then 10k is way too much.

In this thread with plates BYN 752 it's a 1995 Ra but in the ad with the same plates it has somehow become 2 years older...... :confused:

Run your hand under the spare wheel well. If it is bumpy it has sound deadening and is not an RA.
If it is smooth, no sound deadening, probably an RA.

In theory a true RA should only be able to be B-reg here.

Get the VIN from the VIN plate and check it against the VIN stamped on the firewall, it should reveal what it actually is.

I saw this too, they did a VIN check and it comes up as an Auto LX FWD Impreza.

fuckkkk that, if it was re shelled into a WRX it would possibly be worth getting it at a reduced price. aint got time for a Auto LX FWD

essentially the same body as a wrx regardless, its not like it has to be cut & shut to install the rear diff like a lancer, i don't think that detracts from the price, still worth 5-7 grand imho

Center Diff replacement from a dealership for $500? Worth checking that out as well.
