Dummy Fitted my Hellas this evening after work. No wiring done yet.
My big halogen lamp in the garage has blown a bulb so photos aren't great. Getting the bolts off the rear brackets on the horns was a right bitch. Before: During: After: It was dark when I finished so I'll take some better photos in the light. Does anyone know of a good DIY for wiring them up? I know I could get it done at Tristan's on Sunday but I like doing it myself. I had a search on Scooby-Mods but had no luck. Did a search on P-diddy and found one but they didn't use the Scooby-Mods wiring harness. Cheers, Scott |

Quick phone call from Kym last night and the wiring was clear as mud.
Left work a little early today so I could wire them up while it was still light. Was a piece of cake in the end. Got a decent pic of them in in the sunshine too: I'm really pleased with how they look. And as I found out on Sunday at the skid pan they are F'n loud. Car is slowly coming along looks wise too. So I'm a happy man. |

So, time for the full CSB on my rear strut brace.
Arrived home from work excited that my package should have arrived. Find it stashed in laundry. Much excite. Straight out to garage get tools start working. Seat out first, bottom part out easy. Seat back out pretty easy. However Amp is mounted to rear of seat. Sub wiring means seat back has to stay in car. Front nuts on strut tops come out a piece of piss. Rear ones hard to access. Off comes the rear parcel tray which also meant removing the plastic trim from around the side windows. Nuts now easy to get to. All three come off. Sub, amp and speaker wiring has all been threaded through the hole that the strut bar needs to go through. This had to be disconnected and threaded through a different hole into the boot. Easy but time-consuming, and a PITA as at the moment I'm not even running the sub. Still of two minds as to whether I'll replace it or bin it and tear out the amp and all the wiring. Tea break. Yum yum fush and chups. Back into it. Blue strut tops on with a bit of creative manoeuvring. Strut bar adjusted and installed, seats reassembled and voila. Total time two and a bit hours including tea break. Photos: Shinny new strut bar: Blue bits bolted onto strut tops: All done: Last edited by TheDoctor; 04-12-2011 at 09:34 PM. |
