Minor update but borrowed a heat gun from work and a mallet and Jason's garage(cheers mate). So i decided to have a whirl at rolling my own guards and to my surprise and probably most of you i think it turned out really well, no paint is cracked and no longer do my wheels rub :P

Also debadged the remaining badges off the back of the car and removed the Club Spec Evo sticker from the rear doors.

davidsdh and jzn14 like this.

Default The Final Chapter

The last update as stated, was going for a spirited drive in the state Forrest and dropped a tyre off the road and from there wasn't much more then a passenger, went to lock a couple times before it finally decided it wanted to go bush.

Pics of the aftermath of my crash as requested,

Does anyone have any experience with buying back the wreck and how much to should i be expecting to pay etc.

That wont get written off - any rear end damage?

Looks fairly tame, and almost driveable

it's already has been declared write off, assessor was pretty brief said there was 10k just in panel damage before labour and go into further damage in the car so he declared it a write off

He wasn't fussed by the FMIC? I would have thought they would have jumped at that as an excuse not to pay out! Who are you insured with???

Glad it wasn't a serious accident, shame to see such a nice subie get written off though.

Wow - surprised - it looks fairly tame.

Buy it back - grab mods off it, or part it out for profit.

Ryan - mods dont negate the need to pay a claim unless the mod was the direct cause of the accident and not covered by the policy.

SGIO, they seem to have no qualms with modifications, ive called up previously on more then one occasion to make sure.

10k seems a bit interesting, aluminium bonnet? I know the genuine condenser, dryer etc isn't cheap, but to state 10k in panel only sounds like the guy didn't want the job, sure that didn't include mechanical?
jasonmurray and DukeDrifter like this.

Expected sale price - write off settlement - buy back price + realistic sale price of salvageable parts = worth the effort.
