Lol agree. Please continue to tell us how fast your car goes around barbs or Collie Rj.

using the Perth-WRX mobile app
Or have a go at the rally sprint at the plex just don't hit the concrete barriers.

RJ999 22-12-2013 09:15 PM

Jezza you're the one who said 'all show no go'...thats a fkn rude statement!
Im not saying Im faster or whatever...was just responding to that shitty statement you made...there's loads of faster cars/drivers out there, but its not all show no go, don't have to be rude.
Btw...the rac dude made no comments about being fast or slow or whatever you said he pointed out...were you hearing things or maybe you couldn't hear very well as there was too much noise. All the guy did was what I said happened, where did you pull that other shit out of.
Maybe if you wrote a bit more than 4 words it would have helped too.

On another note, seems like I've pissed people off saying I've got a loud car...and for saying what happened at rac...wtf is it with you people.

Hows your brakes btw, fix that clip? (Assuming that's you the dude who had the brembo clips fall off?)
Hahahaha

Not actually sure what you are referring to here?

The guy at RAC was clearly pointing out that your reasonably standard & 'slow' car made more noise than a dedicated race car that smashes low times around a track.

Yes you may be louder than me but I would put money on you not being faster ;)

Better to be underestimated and blow others away than have a loud car (or mouth :p) and get blown away.
I made my comment in respect to your enthusiasm towards having an excessively loud car. I wasn't having a go, just teasing.

The way you were harping on about it (the loudness of your exhaust) reminded me of when we were 16 and thought an exhaust on a lancer was 'the sikkest thing ever' - even though it didn't go any faster or serve any real purpose apart from noise.

That certainly deserved a bit of a troll. The rest - well you've done it yourself :p
you can try keep up one day and you'll see...

if you were smart you would see my sig and not post this ;)
????
after a couple of laps of the long v8 track, the track director comes out from inside the office with the decibel meter and tells me " stop going as hard, as you won't be allowed back out on the track otherwise, look 96db recorded when you're at the opposite side of the track, you're way over our authorised limit. You're exhaust is too loud, calm it down, this is a warning." and walks back in. Lol made my day...i have the loudest of them all!!!

He pointed to my car and another rally rollcaged de-catted one that were the two loudest ones...but mine was apparently off the scale lol...i waited 10 mins and went back out to smash it harder hahaha

He pointed at the other cars to illustrate the 'unnecessary loudness' - ie, he was inferring that even proper race cars don't have to be that loud - why have a street car that loud...

Has anyone heard this in person? Does it even sound good?
I remember a guy on here with an STI with straight pipes...he was a nice guy but damn it sounded like shit

RJ999 23-12-2013 12:27 AM

Ok Jezza...fair enough... bit enthusiastic yea...
listen I love the sound of this exhaust...not harping like you're saying but yea it blows me away how good it sounds and it just makes me really happy :) ...

I wasn't expecting it to be that loud but that's just a bonus I guess. I'd be happy still if it wasn't as loud and sounded same.

RJ999 23-12-2013 12:29 AM

Kid...
A few people have heard it in person now...
browse to page 5 and have a listen...it sounds great.

Its the sound that I like, if it wasn't as loud it be great still as it sounds good.

Heard a 2011 wrx with straight pipes a few weeks ago...agree with you that it sounds shit, specially on idle.
Sounds awesome....much more aggressive and raspy without being too raspy compared to the usual TBE sound.
Woops already watched it and made this comment on page 5 hahaha....

Now that the trolling is over... back to serious stuff, time to decide on future mods.

I'm thinking either option A- Blouch Dominator 1.5 XT-R turbo and ID1000 injectors and tune or option B- replace headers and tune.

I'm leaning towards option A, then later down the track option B.

Those who have done this before, what kind of HP can I safely get to without having to put in forgies/rebuild etc?....or is it a complete 'no no' to change turbo/injectors etc without putting in forged pistons/rods etc?

or should I just play safe and go with the headers only for now until I win lotto and buy some Cosworth forgies :p

Jezza 23-12-2013 11:13 AM

You have a semi closed block with forged pistons already. Unless you are shooting for real big numbers ie 350-400hp+, you should get decent performance out of the motor you have.

I really don't think headers are a worthwhile mod for low-moderate power cars.

Turbo and tune should net you some decent gains, maxing out your injectors.
Talk to Sean at ASG for his advice on what you need.
