Quick question, looking at all these dyno graphs, most running 12 or high 11 afr. Is it because o2 senser is connected to the tailpipe, which coyld be 0.5-0.8 leaner. Is just hard to believe 12 afr is safe for some of the high power figure. Plz enlightene me.

I thought there are two O2 sensors on G3's. Which dyno graphs are you referring to?

Since asked, he jas a civil engineering and accounting double undergead degree from curtin and postgraduate mech engineering degree from US and mechnic licence from japan, hence the connection from Japan. Back to topic, I thinl oem senser onlu good for 12-14 afr, so tuner need a wideband to monitor afr properly. Its not a particular dyno graph I refer to. Just to clarify it. using the Perth-WRX mobile app

Dont all the tuner bung an afr sensor in the back of the exhaust to measure Afrs when tuning, including Mao? Get Mao to measure your afrs with the sensor instead of using your wideband and you know the answer.

Tony, yes we monitor it through my wideband, I think its more accurate. What I was wondering, if u monitor from tailpipe, the dyno graph shows the readings from therw, right? Btw, ff7 is awesome!!! using the Perth-WRX mobile app

What are you on about? You trying to start a tuner battle again? Sounds to me like you're becoming a little "more" than a customer to Mao.

Yeh where else is it going to read from? I cant see why the reading would be any less accurate than you wideband. They are both metering the same gas in the post turbo exhaust, just from different ends. Dunno if a cat would make a difference, best thing to do would be to get Mao to measure your afrs with his sensor and compare it too your gauge. And for the sake of a fair experiment and to rule out poor calibration of Mao's sensor or your gauge, take it too another shop and get them to check the AFR.
Quickly google'd Catalytic converters affect on AFR's and found this good article with actually testing. Read the summary at the bottom if you cant be bothered with the complete article http://www.dtec.net.au/Lambda%20Test...0Converter.htm
