Blow off valve
Hi guys i have a version 6 sti which i currently just put in a brand new bf34 turbo its been safe tuned to run 17psi.
I was wondering if i was to disconnect the blow off valve will this cause any damage to the engine, or coarse me to blow a turbo . |

Just leave the BOV on mate, it will help keep the turbo spooled between gear changes. It's a VF34 and it's ball bearing, if you take it off you may not necessarily be damaging the turbo, but you definitely will not be getting the best performance from it.

Why are you considering disconnecting the bov? It's there from factory for a reason |

Only reason people do this is for the flutter noise/compressor surge, may sound cool but it slows turbo spool through gear changes as pressure only has one way out when you close the throttle body back through the compressor, it will oso thrash the thrust bearing in tthe was new turbo.
